CHP Kingwood Update Summer 2022

CHP, compassionate healing prayer, at HCA Kingwood Hospital is growing! We are greeted with open arms by the staff, who request prayer for themselves as well as their patients. Warm caring relationships have developed between the staff and us, who many times say, "I prayed you would come help my patient, and you walked into the room without being called!" Such is the perfect timing of our God, Whose knowledge transcends all earthly crises. Al and I walked into ICU to be greeted by the charge nurse who said, "I'm so glad you're here! I have four patients who are dying within the hour, and I don't know if they all are saved. Please go visit them now while there is time."

Healing Blessings for the New Year

We are the good ground who, having heard the word with a noble and good heart, keep it and bear fruit with patience. We may be in the world but we’re not of it, we do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. We will speak to our symptoms saying, “you are the lie, the word of God is the truth!” Let us pray for each other and encourage each other in this way until it penetrates deeper and we become more and more aware of His Presence and His Power within us and one day we wake up and the symptoms are gone!

Chanukah

Chanukkah ( חנוכה ) means “dedication.” The Feast of Hanukkah is the Feast of Dedication. The events behind the festival of Hanukkah are found in the apocryphal book of 1 Maccabees. Therein the story is told of how Judah Maccabee and his heroic band of freedom fighters overthrew the tyrannical Seleucid forces that had subdued Judea and defiled the Jerusalem Temple. The Hanukkah Story In the time of Alexander the Great’s empire, the land of Israel found itself buffeted between world powers that sought to use her as a natural land bridge between Africa and Eurasia. The people of Israel were the victims of great political upheavals. War was never far from their land. In the meantime, another war was being waged among the people of Israel. Alexander’s conquests had introduced the world to Greek language, thought, custom, and philosophy.
