Our friends from Houston, Jeff and Rina, were also visiting Israel, and we had already enjoyed a Shabbat Dinner with them and some of their friends earlier in the trip. This day, they visited us at the March of Life House in Ceasarea.
Jeff and Rina helped with learning the verses of “Tumbalalaika,” and suggested other Yiddish songs which may be good for us to sing with our Russian groups.
Then, we walked together to the nearby beach to watch the sun set on the Mediterranean…
Meanwhile, a young Israeli man was orchestrating a special moment with friends and family (a bus load!) … The last guest to arrive was the young woman he would ask to marry him! Thankfully, Rina was able to communicate in Hebrew with some of them, so we got to be in on the surprise.
Besides Jeff and Rina’s visit, our other activities were related to phone calls, connections, preparation for the upcoming events and travels, a “catch your breath and find your socks” day.
