Israel Trip, Fall 2016 – Day 3 Tel Aviv Shuk

Morning Shuk-Shopping, a Great Leader Remembered, and the Car Ride to Haifa

hat purchase

Now, what do you do, if you already have way too many hats?

Buy another one!  This hat, from the outdoor market in Tel Aviv (Shuk Carmel) has its own story.  It became a gift later in the trip, to a mighty woman of G-d who is staying in Israel to help in  planning the “March of the Nations” here in 2018.

Here, everything is fresh! The juice stands are amazing, by the way!

We walked past the US Embassy in Israel… it’s located here!

We returned to morning papers lingering in the hotel lobby: Shimon Peres, former president of Israel, passed away Tuesday (the day we arrived) and will be buried Friday… (Newspapers in Russian & Hebrew)  So our first day here had historical significance?!  More world leaders came for him than any funeral since Mandela’s…

The drive was pleasant from Tel Aviv to Haifa…. we stayed on Route along the coast of the Mediterranean, so it was a nice view!  Along the highway, near the location of his home, (named Herzliya) Theodor Herzl, founder of modern Zionism, is remembered:
